St. Paul’s Honored Parishioner

Mrs. Jane Brunner

Jane Brunner has been a parishioner of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for over sixty years.

Jane was born Jane Galt in Superior, Wisconsin. As a young child, she and her family moved to the Bethlehem area of Pennsylvania. After completing her education to become a nurse, Jane moved to the Triple Cities where she took a nursing position in a local hospital.

It was in this community that Jane met a certain young "fly Boy" named John Brunner, an avid pilot and friend of the world renowned, Edwin Link. Realizing that theirs was a match "Made in the Heavens", John proposed to Jane and they were married. Jane and John raised three children, William and twins, Jim and Barbara.

Jane was very active at St. Paul’s. She served on several committees over the years including the Rummage Sale and also sang in the church choir. Jane’s greatest joy was to be part of the church’s Alter Guild. Outside of church, Jane loved to play bridge and express herself through her china paintings.

Jane now resides at the Good Shepherd-Fairview Home Facility on 80 Fairview Avenue, Binghamton, NY. You can sent her a card:

The Vestry at St. Paul's has identified two goals for our congregation in the near future and this ministry with homebound parishioners was felt to be vital to our community life. One outcome from the Vestry's recent retreat at Skaneateles is to create a core group of parishioners who would take on the ministry of bringing St. Paul's greetings to those who are homebound
You don't have to be an expert in any field to volunteer time to make this mission come alive. All you need is a desire to reach out and help, to bring some joy to those we miss seeing in church
We are currently looking for people to help with this vital and exciting new ministry possibility. Share the gift of your presence with our friends who are no longer able to attend our services on a regular basis, or with those who are only temporarily unable to be with us.
